EASY-BAKE : EGG-LESS BOURBON CAKE

The word 'cake' is viking-origin and believed to be derived from 'kaka'. Though first cake in India was prepared in 1883 at Royal Biscuit Factory,Thalassery but baking got popular in recent past. However, now-a-days, whether anniversary or farewell no occasion is complete without a cake.This bourbon cake recipe needs only few ingredients which will be easily available in your kitchen.This may be your perfect quarantine cake, not to miss any celebration.


INGREDIENTS AND PROCEDURE :

Cake:

  • Bourbon biscuits: 500 gm

  • Sugar powder : 2 tablespoon

  • Baking Soda : 2 teaspoon

  • Milk: 2 cup

preparation of cake:

  • Break all biscuits into small pieces and grind into fine powder using a mixer.

  • Add sugar powder and baking soda to it and mix well.

  • Slowly add milk to the powder mix till it gets a running consistency.

  • Pre-heat oven at 180c for 5min.

  • Take a large cake mold or any microwave safe container and grease its base with butter.

  • now sprinkle some all-purpose flour on the base of the container to avoid sticking of cake and spread a butter paper.

  • Pour the cake mix to the container and tap it slowly to remove air bubble.

  • Bake at 180c for about 20min.

  • Take a wooden tooth pick and insert at the center, if it comes clean then its ready.

  • Cool it down for sometime at room temperature before removing from cake mold.

Sugar syrup preparation:

  • Add one cup of water to one cup of sugar and boil till it thickens.

  • Cut cake into two equal horizontal halves and moisten it with the sugar syrup.


Cake glaze preparation:

  • Milk: 1 cup

  • Butter (As required)

  • All purpose flour (Maida): 1 table spoon

  • Chocolate: 50gm

preparation:

  • Take a cup of hot milk, add chocolate to it and stir.

  • Heat the chocolate milk on low flame ,add butter with continuous stirring and cook for 2 min.

  • Make a slurry of all purpose flour by adding a little bit of melted butter and gradually mix the slurry to chocolate milk.

  • Here, if required add a little bit of milk and cook to a cream consistency.

  • Cool it down at room temperature and spread between two layers of cake and on top of it.

  • Cover the chocolate layer with some cake dust.

  • Refrigerate the cake for an hour.

And your cake is ready!! Now,decorate it as you wish and enjoy.
